French Saudi agreements with 10 billion euros
The French Prime Minister, Manuel Valls, during his visit to Riyadh Tuesday, signing a series of agreements, contracts and memorandums of understanding with Saudi Arabia worth 10 billion euros.
Valls said in a tweet via Twitter: "France-Saudi Arabia: Decades ten billion euros", while the prime minister announced that the various conventions is in the field of energy, health, agriculture, food, industry, navigation and armament and satellite infrastructure.
Under an agreement signed Tuesday in Riyadh, the Saudi create a fund to invest in small and medium-sized French companies, especially in the field of information technology and renewable energy companies, a fund worth two billion euros, according to news agency AFP.
The memorandum of understanding was signed between the Saudi sovereign fund and the French laboratory "FBI" biotechnology, in order to create a plant in Saudi Arabia worth 900 million euros.
In the area of agriculture and food industry, the lifting of the ban that was imposed on imports of French meat, and 37 French companies will be able to export meat back to the UK, according to close sources from the Prime Minister.
In the field of armament, nearby sources of Valls said that the kingdom would ask before the end of the year the purchase of 30 French naval Corvette, with the opening of exclusive negotiations in satellite communications and surveillance field.
As has been the announcement of the intention of Riyadh begin negotiations with French companies, "Veolia" and "Alstom" and "Angie" for projects in the field of infrastructure, especially in regards to the water network management project in Riyadh (three billion euros) and the distribution of energy in Jeddah ( billion euros).
A statement issued on the occasion, that the civil aviation sector has an important potential for cooperation between the two sides, as Airbus "have strong potential for commercial growth with the renovation project Saudi Arabian Airlines for its fleet."
