Germany exports falling faster since the global crisis


Germany suffered the biggest decline in its exports, last August, as the country's imports fell, the fastest pace since the global crisis, in a sign of Europe's largest economy is affected by a slowdown in emerging markets.
According to "Reuters" it reported, data issued by the Federal Statistical Office revised quarterly decline in reading B5.2% to 97.7 billion euros, on a monthly basis, marking the biggest drop since last January revealed.
Economists attributed the affected data and the pace of the decline to the large number of public holidays, in August, this year.
However, the registration of a sharp fall in industrial production and orders could be due, according to estimates, the decline in demand from abroad, especially from China.
In addition to the economic slowdown in emerging markets, it is likely to be hurt German car exports, due to circumvent the exhaust emissions tests in the Volkswagen scandal.
It is the automotive sector in Germany and one out of every five workers in the country, also accounted for B17.9% of the total exports of goods from Germany, last year.
